Actor David Spade has made a donation of USD 100,00 to raise awareness about mental health after the death of his sister-in-law and celebrated designer Kate Spade.
Kate, one of the biggest names in American fashion, was found dead in her Park Avenue apartment from an apparent suicide on June 5.
The "Grown Ups" actor donated the amount to National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), an organisation which helps people in dealing with their mental health problems.
"More people suffer from mental health issues than we may realise but no one should ever feel ashamed to reach out for support," David said, according to People Magazine.
"If you or anyone you know is in need of help or guidance please contact the national suicide prevention hotline at 800-273-8255 or go to nami.org to learn more and help those who may be in need," he added.
Kate was married to David's brother Andy for over 24 years. The couple has one child, Frances Beatrix Spade (13).
