Dimapur, April 1 (EMN): Come April 5, the local ground at Mon town will stage a Guinness World Records attempt.
On that day, at 11 am, ‘around 5000’ Konyak women will attempt to set record for the ‘Largest Traditional Konyak Dance’ performed, according to a press release from the Konyak Union on Monday. This is part of the Konyak community’s annual Aoleang Monyu celebration.
“…a troupe of about 5000 Konyak women will dance to the ceremonial song invoking blessings on the tribe and the festival in traditional attire for at least five minutes,” it informed. The event is being organised by the Konyak Union, the Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong and the Konyak Students Union.
