A meeting of DAN Coordination Committee today agreed to strengthen the DAN coalition and give due respect and recognition to each other in the greater interest of the people of the State. The meeting, held under the chairmanship of leader of the NPF Legislature Party G Kaito Aye, further discussed the need to renew and strengthen the relationship between the State government and the NDA government at the Centre.
The meeting was attended by legislators of the NPF and BJP and party officials of the two parties. The BJP thorough its legislators and the party office bearers reaffirmed the stand taken by them and assured the house that they would firmly stand with G Kaito Aye, the leader who commands the majority support of the legislators, according to a release issued by NPF Press & Media Bureau.
They also informed that they would not support the side that was responsible for their disqualification for which they had to battle in court on two occasions. The meeting was also addressed by Lok Sabha MP Neiphiu Rio who is the recognized NDA member of Parliament from Nagaland as he was the consensus candidate of the DAN coalition, the release added.

Dimapur, January 14

Describing the statement of Yitachu published in local dailies on January 14 as ‘self confusing’, the press and media cell of NPF led by G Kaito Aye, in a release today, said his direct admission that the present strength of NPF Legislature Party is 29 MLA only exposes the autocratic and dictatorial style of former president Dr. Shurhozelie wherein he issued the suspension order to democratically elected MLAs at his whims and fancies and in his emotional attempt to stay in power.
The release said this dictatorial action of former president Dr. Shurhozelie compelled the party to remove him from the chair of president.
It also put on record that senior party leaders requested Dr. Shurhozelie to convene special CEC meeting to amicably settle the prevailing issue within the party but he turned a blind eye that was hovering in the party right under his nose. Unfortunately NPF was forced to remove him from the chair and elect Noke Wangnao as the president, the release said.
The NPF led by Kaito also demanded that TR Zeliang gracefully resign and pave the way for the NPF majority party to form the government without any further delay.
