(EM Images)[/caption] Our Correspondent Kohima, Oct. 28 (EMN): The Dzüdza River Bridge near hydro power station on NH-29 is in perilous condition after the ‘wing wall’ of the bridge collapsed on Saturday night. The secretary of Dzüdza Village council, Vitso Nagi informed Eastern Mirror that parts of the bridge collapsed on Saturday midnight following the incessant downpour. He added that the dumping of land debris by the construction company of the four-lane road, some distance below the bridge, formed a temporary dam that raised the water level. He said that it affected the foundation and also parts of bridge. The temporary dam, which was formed also broke on Saturday night. The chairman of the village council, Meselhuto Rino, also maintained that the rising of water level has led to the incident and added that the construction company has been geared up since Sunday morning for its restoration. However, he added that the falling of mud debris has stopped the company from transporting machineries to start the work until Monday. The Kohima police had already issued a traffic advisory on Sunday directing vehicles to ply the route via Tsiesema-10th Mile-Peducha; yet few light vehicles were seen plying on Monday on the high-risk bridge. Many trucks and transport vehicles were also seen stranded near the old KMC dumping site landslide area as the incessant rain continue to cause mudslides in the area.
