‘Daddy Cool’ hitmaker Boney M coming to Nagaland

Boney M., the famous band of all time from German will be performing a live concert ‘Christmas with Boney M’ as part of the Hornbill International Music Festival 2017 at Indira Gandhi Stadium on December 10 at 5 pm.
This was announced by the Nagaland Outdoors Club (NOC) at a press conference held at Rattle and Hum lounge on Nov. 7, Tuesday.
Boney M. is a German vocal group created by German record producer Frank Farian in 1976. Originally based in West Germany, the group achieved popularity during the disco era of the late 1970s and 80s. Since the 1980s, various line-ups of the band have performed with different personnel.
With more than 150 million records sold, they are one of the best-selling artists of all time. Their genres of music include disco euro, disco, R&B and reggae. Some of the popular chartbusters are Daddy Cool, Brown Ring in the Ring, Rasputin etc.
Briefing media person on the upcoming exciting event, convenor NOC, Kethosituo Elvis Mepfhüo the group comprising of seven members will be arriving at Kohima on December 9, perform on December 10 and depart the next day.
He said the band will be performing their hits songs of 80s and 90s for an hour. It was informed that tickets will be made available for sale on November 13, which has two categories viz. Gold Pass priced at Rs.10,000/- for two persons and a car pass, while the other category is priced at Rs. 1000/-.
The good news is that lucky draw of 5 from each category will be held wherein the winners will get a chance to dine with the band at De Oriental Grand.
Tickets will be made available in Kohima at Big Bite, Jail Colony; Universal Traders, Razhü Point and De Oriental Grand, High School Road and Furtados, opposite to Supermarket in Dimapur.
It will also be open for sale at Soyim Printers, near Badminton Stadium in Mokokchung; Cafe Amor, Tinali Sonari Road at Mon; Live Center, near Cooperative Bank at Pfutsero; Onrush Cave, near Tower Clock at Tuensang; Freesia Shop, below DC Office in Wokha and DC Office canteen in Kiphire.
NOC comprising of 17 members focus exclusively on entertainment during Hornbill festival since 2014. Earlier, they have roped in international music artistes like Smokie, Halloween, Abba, Vini Moore and Kee Marcello.
