Cyberpunk 2077 news: Game goes gold ahead of launch, full map of Night City leaked
Dimapur, Oct 5. (EMN): CD Projekt Red’s much-anticipated game Cyberpunk 2077 has officially gone gold ahead of its November 19 release.
The term ‘going gold’ in the gaming world means that the final version of the game is complete and ready for release.
The official twitter account of Cyberpunk 2077 announced that the game has officially gone gold on October 5. The tweet read, “Cyberpunk 2077 has gone gold! See you in Night City on November 19th!” along with a picture of Keanu Reeves’s character Johnny Silverhand holding a gold disc.

It has been a long time coming since the game was announced back in 2013 and now a finished Cyberpunk 2077 game is ready for launch. This doesn’t mean that the development on Cyberpunk 2077 is done though. Cyberpunk 2077 will most probably be shipped with a Day One patch which means that the developers must still be working on the game to smooth out glitches and apply other bug fixes on the final version before launch date comes.
In other related news, a full map of Night City (presumably from the physical edition of the game) has been leaked online. The timing of the alleged leak is quite suspicious though. Anyway, the leaked map gives us our first proper look at the complete view of Night City, the urban environment where most of the game’s storyline will happen. The map shows us the various districts of Night City and its surrounding regions.
At first glance, Cyberpunk’s world seems to be smaller than The Witcher 3’s world. But it is nothing unexpected since CD Projekt Red had already said that Cyberpunk 2077 will be “slightly shorter” than The Witcher 3. However, Night City’s urban sprawl should be denser and will offer players access to a verticality that was not seen on The Witcher 3 environment.
The leaked images also included postcards depicting what life in Night City would be like.
Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release on November 19 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, as well as launching on the PS5 and Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
The game is available for pre-order on Steam for INR 2,999 and GOG for $ 42.99.
