Cue Association Nagaland observes third foundation day

The third foundation day of Cue Association of Nagaland (CAN) was held on Friday in Kohima.

CAN founding member, Mathew K Pienyü, informed that the association completed its first edition of the snooker ranking tournament in 2019-2020 and ongoing second edition would be completed by November this year.

He apprised on how they are looking forward to organising more tournaments with better prize money and citation once it is affiliated with the Government of Nagaland.

CAN legal advisor, N Mozhui, informed that they are working on the bylaws of the association which would be presented soon to the members.

He reminded members of CAN to continue extending their coordination and support to fulfill the aims and objectives of the association.

Chief operating officer, Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) under RD department, M Rollan Lotha, expressed happiness that a lot of snooker clubs as well as players are coming up of late, especially in Dimapur and Kohima.

He emphasised on the need to plan and sustain the snooker houses so that they could encourage and produce players who could represent Nagaland in reputed tournaments and bring laurels to the state.

Secretary of CAN, Seyiekhrielie Rame, delivered the secretarial report while oath taking of the new team of CAN office bearers for the tenure 2022-24 was administered by advisor of CAN, Neidilhou Suohu.

Catechist of St. Francis de Sales Parish Kohima Town, Francis P Kiewhuo, invoked God’s blessings upon the newly elected CAN executive members be led by Atuyito Zhimo from Club Area 51 Kohima as the president, Avilie Linyü (Baulkline Club Kohima) and Bohoto K Chishi (Boulevard Club Dimapur) as vice-presidents, Lhouvivor Mebu Sekhose (Q Club Kohima) as general secretary and Mathew K Pienyü (Club Area 51 Kohima) as treasurer.
