Dimapur, Oct. 25 (EMN): The Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) has opposed the representation submitted by the Power Department Junior Engineer’s Service Association (PDJESA) and All Nagaland Junior Engineer’s Association (ANJEA) to the principal secretary, department of Power and chief secretary of Nagaland demanding 70% of posts through promotion and 30% through the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC).

Stating that the demand of the junior engineers was “illogical”, CTAN asked the concerned authority to retain the existing Engineering Service Rule 7, 2012 (Group A and B) section 6, which says that 60% of posts of SDO, asst. engineer and  asst. architect should be filled through NPSC and 40% through promotions from lower grade.

“The CTAN in no way will allow and accept the illogical demands made by ANJEA and PDJESA asking for 70% through promotion and 30% through NPSC keeping in mind the number of engineering graduates passing out from different universities each year in hundreds. At present there are 5200 plus registered qualified engineers seeking to sit for exams,” it read.
