Dimapur, Jan. 17 (EMN): The Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) has appealed to several government departments in the state to take immediate action on alleged irregularities in its recruitment process. The press release, it said, was issued in the interest of Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) aspirants.

Dept. of Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of Forest Force

The CTAN stated that based on RTI report, it has submitted an appeal letter on Dec. 3, 2019 for immediate termination of five Forester-1 appointed illegally between 23/06/2017 and 18/08/2018 within 20 working days (from the date of submitting the letter) and to advertise all the 10 vacant posts of Forester-1.

‘It is to remind that we the aspirants have been patient for too long and, therefore will no more allow any such illegal appointments without advertisement from now on. With the expiry of time frame given, CTAN shall react and be compelled in adopting movements against the department, fighting for the rights of educated unemployed,’ read the press release.

Directorate of soil and water conservation

It stated that several associations -- FGAN, ASAN, AGEGAN and CTAN – had jointly submitted appeal letters dated 09/09/19 and 18/12/19 to nullify the regularisation process of two contract appointees in the capacity of JSCO but has learnt from ‘some reliable sources that the department is still in its process of regularising the two illegal appointees’.

Informing that the two posts “have already being requisitioned to NPSC and for which the written examinations are also conducted (NPSC/CTE/2018),” it appealed to the department not to kill competitive spirit of the Naga youths. It said regularising the illegal appointees will only shatter the dreams of thousand aspirants and demanded the department to take immediate action against the two contract JSCOs. It went on to say that “every effort will be made to prevent such activities”.

Department of Power

The CTAN claimed that Power department’s “circular dated 14/01/20 inviting candidates for deputation to 1(one) post of Electrical Inspector under Chief Electrical Inspectorate” is against the direct recruitment quota of 60% of the Nagaland Engineering Service Rule 2012.

Requesting the department not to misinterpret NSER, CTAN clarified that “60% direct recruitment means through NPSC as per 60:40 ratio (NESR) and not deputation at all”. In this regard, it has appealed to the department to acknowledge the requisition letter sent to NPSC and not to push for deputation.

Department of Industries and Commerce

The CTAN has also appealed to the department of Industries and Commerce to ‘cancel the advertisement No.I&C/ESTT-7/12/ dated 4th January 2020 for one post of Shift In-charge and requisition it to NPSC at the earliest’ and added that “the said post has a grade pay which comes under the preview of NPSC and not departmental exam”.
