KOHIMA — Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) is all set to hold its 77th general conference in Losami village from January 31 to February 2 on the theme “Breaking barriers, shaping the future.”
The conference will be hosted by Losami Students’ Union (LSU) coinciding with its 62nd general conference, where the minister of Power and Parliamentary Affairs, KG Kenye, will be the inaugural guest on February 1.
MLA Dr. Neisatuo Mero will be the introductory guest on January 31, while MLA Kuzholuzo Nienu, leader NPF Legislature Party, will be the cultural guest on February 1 and advisor of CAWD and Taxes, Küdecho Khamo, will be valedictory guest on February 2.
Meanwhile, advisor of New and Renewable Energy and NSDMA, Z Nyusietho Nyuthe, will be the special guest of the LSU 62nd general conference on February 2.
The convenor of central organising committee, Cusayi Lohe, informed that Kuko Mero, deputy commissioner of Phek, will be the felicitation guest, while the theme speaker will be Dr. Medongoi Rhakho, deputy director of Higher Education, on February 1.
The conference will witness greetings, exhortation and solitary messages from the president of Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF), Kevesa Khamo; president of Pochury Students’ Union (PSU), Rongley Leyri; president of Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO), Vezühü Keyho; general secretary of North East Students’ Organisation (NESO), Mutsikhoyo Yhobu; president of Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), Medovi Rhi; president of Lotha Students’ Union (LSU), Lirhonthung Kithan; ANSAM president, Luikang Luckson; and president of Angami Students’ Union (ASU), Khriesamhalie David Mere.
The three-day conference will also be marked by union assembly, folk dance and folk song competitions, felicitation, release of magazine, discourse on conference theme, introduction of new office bearers etc.
It informed that Late Niesatsii Khamo and Late Zekope Krome Memorial Trophies will be awarded to the winners of folk song (quartet) and folk dance competition during the cultural session, while Late Goyiepra Kenye Meritorious Award would be accorded to the HSLC and HSSLC toppers.
