CS urges to clear advertisement bills

Dimapur, Sep. 10 (EMN): Nagaland chief secretary, J Alam, has urged all the departments having pending advertisement bills to pay their bills to the newspapers at the earliest.

The chief secretary stated this during the meeting of AHoD and HoD held at the Secretariat conference hall on September 10. While stressing on the importance of maintaining websites, he asked all the departments to keep it updated stating that it is the only source of keeping the citizens informed about the department, a DIPR report stated.

“Such update on the websites with the right and timely information will drastically reduce the number of RTI cases”, he added.

The principal secretary of IT and Power, KD Vizo, stated that out of 95 departments only 72 departments have updated their websites and the remaining 23 departments are yet to be updated. He further mentioned the cabinet decision in 2016, which clearly stated that all the government departmental websites are to be hosted at the state data centre.

Meanwhile, the principal secretary of Home, Abhijit Sinha, asked all the departments to come up with activities and programmes and submit reports to the Home department in commemoration of the 75 years of India’s Independence (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav).

On attendance, the CS asked the AHoD and HoD to continue monitoring the attendance of officers and staff and urged them to work in close association with one another.

During the meeting, the department of Law and Justice notified on “Engagement of legal consultants” with regard to discontinuation of appointment of legal consultants/ advisors/ assistants.

The notification superseded all other notifications dealing with the engagement of legal assistant, legal advisors, legal consultants including the finance department’s notifications dated August 24, 2018, and April 15, 2019, the report stated.

During the meeting, a powerpoint presentation on CAG audit report was presented by Finance department.
