Dimapur, Feb. 19 (EMN): Elucidating that Urban Development and the Municipal Affairs are two important departments for the state government and shouldered huge responsibilities, Nagaland Chief Secretary J Alam stated that both departments have the opportunity to help people of the state benefit from various welfare schemes under their supervision.
Alam stated this during a departmental review meeting with the AHoD and HoD of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs on Saturday at the Chief Secretary’s conference hall in Kohima. He also called upon the departments to plan for the future and come up with innovative ideas for the successful implementation of the welfare schemes, a DIPR report stated.
Alam further encouraged the departments to continue working for the people with dedication and enthusiasm and bring laurels to the state.
It stated that the departmental officials made a detailed powerpoint presentation on their activities including development programmes and welfare schemes, innovative practices, establishment matters, and other issues related to the departments.
The departments also highlighted the various welfare schemes and projects of the state and central governments being implemented and monitored by them such as Swachh Bharat Mission, Amrut, PM SVANidhi, PMAY (housing for all) etc.
The members also deliberated on how to implement the welfare projects properly so that the beneficiaries could benefit from them. Besides, the report stated that challenges and other issues were also discussed during the meeting.
