CS launches ‘Startup India in Nagaland’ portal

Dimapur, Aug. 16 (EMN): State chief secretary, Temjen Toy, launched the ‘Startup India in Nagaland’ portal at the Chief Secretary conference hall, Kohima, on August 16.

Speaking at the launching programme, Tenjem Toy, has termed as opportune time and right initiative to introduce the portal by providing the most enabling ecosystem to support and nurture startup entrepreneurs in the state as the youth need mentorship and guidance.

A DIPR report has quoted the chief secretary as saying that having a ‘Start-up policy’ would help the aspiring youth to become successful entrepreneurs and mentioned that through the portal along with the constant support of the startup cell, unemployed youth would get assistance and an environment to start and venture out their own line of business.

He expressed gratitude to the Industries and Commerce department for initiating the portal and hoped that many youth would be benefited and make them at par with other entrepreneur of the state.

Principal secretary of Industries and Commerce, Lithrongla G Chishi, said that ‘Startup India in Nagaland’ would facilitate startups to access the various resources of the ‘Startup Eco System’ available in the state. She added that it would create an enabling environment to address the aspirations of youth and to engage with all stakeholders of Startup eco-system for strengthening the start-ups with appropriate incubation and mentoring infrastructure, develop human capital, provide fast track statutory support and network of appropriate funding agencies.

The Nagaland startup portal has been developed to enable startups from the state to register online and apply for recognition under ‘Startup Nagaland’ by logging in to the portal which has been uploaded at www.startup.nagaland.gov.in. The portal would provide the youth with incentives and programmes available under the state ‘Startup policy.’

She further mentioned that the department has work hard in coming up with the startup policies and thanked the IT department for the commendable work in designing and developing the website in a short span of time.
