CRSA sports meet concludes

Wokha, Jan. 7 (EMN): The Chukidong Range Sports Association (CRSA) sports meet concluded on Jan. 6 with S.Abenthung Ngullie, general secretary Wokha District Chamber of Commerce and Industries (WDCC&I) as the guest of honour at Chukidong public ground.
Speaking on the occasion Ngullie informed the football players and the community to give special attention, channeling in the right direction as sports personalities gains fame, wealth and attention bringing laurel to the community. He encouraged the players as well the organisers to look further beyond sport not just as a game, where he cited that sports brings together and unity, expressing that society need and demands unity.
He also informed the players and elders to restrain themselves from all social evil and to avoid the use of alcohols and intoxicants to keep them fit where as to show the younger generation a better example.
The defending champion and fourth time consecutive winners of CRSA, XI Brothers Club Chukidong locked horns with Hurricane Sporting Club Chukidong (HSCC) at the final match where XI Brothers Club Chukidong retained the title with a lone goal from the boots of Shalo Kemp.
Individual prizes
Best team – MVSA
Man of the tournament – Myithong Kemp of XI Brother’s Club Chukidong.
Best goalkeeper – Meribemo Kithan of MVSA
Best defender – Mhabemo Ngullie of HSCC.
Best upcoming player – Sulanthug Ngullie of Stallion FC Koio
Top scorer – Shalo Kemp of XI Brother’s Club Chukidong
Earlier during the day the final volley ball match for both men and women was played, where Tsungiki Team (A) retained the championship after defeating Tsugiki Team (B) for man volleyball by 14-25, 18-25 and 20-25, while in the women’s category, Mungya Village sports Association retained the title by defeating A1 sporting club Tsungiki Village by 18-25, 16-25 and 21-25.
