Kohima, Oct. 19 (EMN): The 78th battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at Zubza, near Kohima town, organised a civic action programme at its headquarters for Dzudza and Sechu Zubza village on October 19 in Kohima district.
The force’s deputy inspector general of police (operations) CRPF Syamchand De attended the function as its special guest. He addressed the programme. He urged the gathering to collectively work to transform the condition of Nagaland.
The police officer pitched for social transformation to ensuring overall development that may be in the form of infrastructure, education and even peace in the state. He has urged for joint efforts form the churches, civil society organisations and all sections of the society.
Further, De advocated for a plastic-free and tobacco-free society. He spoke about the importance of educating children and about healthy living.
Earlier delivering the welcome address, Anil Kuma Jha, commandant, said that the programme was aimed at maintaining relations with the community and build it with the public.
Jha expressed happiness about having to organise the programme to also identify the needs of the villages, and to address their needs. He assured to organise more programmes to address the grievances of the public and to provide them with the basic amenities where needed.
The commandant expressed appreciation to the villagers of Sechu-Zubza and Dzudza besides neighbouring villages for their cooperation and friendship.
Village leaders Vineikho from Sechu-Zubza and Keneilezo from Dzudza villages expressed gratitude to the Central Reserve Police Force at Zubza for their social work and humane activities. They assured to extend all possible help in future.
The programme was followed by distribution solar lamps and a water storage tank to the villages.
