CRPF officers hand a water tank to a villager during a civic action programme the security force conducted in Kohima.

Dimapur, Oct. 22 (EMN): The 78th battalion of the Central Police Reserve Force (CRPF) donated water tanks to Chedima villagers as part of the organisation’s civic action programme. The CRPF conducted a programme on October 21 at Chedima in Kohima, aiming to ‘bridge the gap’ between the public and security forces particularly the CRPF, updates stated.

The police establishment issued a press release to the media on Tuesday informing about the programme.

According to the press release, the CRPF’s deputy inspector general of police for operations Syamchand De is said to have met the request of the villagers of Chedima for said items.

Anil Kumar Jha, commandant, addressed the event. In his speech, the police officer expressed happiness to have organised the civic action programme in Chedima village.

The 78th battalion in Nagaland had been organising such programmes frequently and interacting with civilians and the public in general to share in their grievances and to provide basic amenities, the press release stated.

The commandant asserted expressed gratitude to the villagers of Chedima and neighbouring villages for their cooperation and for the cordial relations.

The battalion distributed 31 water storage tanks to Chedima villagers, the press release added.
