Crossword puzzles in Ao released

Mokokchung, August 18 (EMN): ”Olong Waitep- Tebong – II (Crosswords Second volume ) in Ao language authored by Aso Imsong, a former reporter of Ao vernacular news paper- the Ao Milen, was released by Dr. Temsuwati, retired Additional Development Commissioner, in the presence of Ao Senden officials, ASLB and well-wishers at Hotel Metsupen on Friday.
The crosswords maker, in his note, said that the book was published to enrich the Ao literature and promote Ao language among the writers and students. He also dedicated the book to his wife; son and daughter who have supported him to construct this puzzle words or phrases.
Imsong also shared his past encounter with Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu, former Chief Minister of Nagaland, when he was the minister of Urban Development & Higher Education, who encouraged him to undertake second volume.
Dr. Temsuwati, while releasing books, challenged the people to go hand in hand with the rest of the world.
He said Ao’s are fortunate to have many dialects wide spoken among the people such as Chungli, Mongsen and Changki and asserted that all these dialects should be given equal importance as rest of the language to preserve and developed into literature. He also encouraged writers to undertake more research work on the roots of the Ao languages.
Prof. A Lanunungsang, retired Pro Vice Chancellor of NU; Ao Senden Literature secretary I Temjen Tzudir; and Ao Senden general secretary S Temsu Aier also spoke in the programme.
‘Olong Waiteo- Tebong – II’ was inspired towards promoting Ao literature and to encourage young Ao generation to enrich their own language. The book contains 100 cross puzzles.
