Flying squad seizes 60 kg of ganja
Dimapur, Feb. 9 (EMN): Flying Squad team-1 under 9th Kohima town assembly constituency, led by Magistrate Lisepi, OSD Higher Education during a surprise checking at Para Medical junction in Kohima on Feb. 7 confiscated 60 kg of ganja from vehicle no. NL 01-T-9065. Updates from DPRO on Fri. informed about the seizure.
In this connection, two women identified as Apey, and Alhi, both from Mesolomi village were arrested.
The accused along with the contraband drug and vehicle is stated to have been handed over to South Police Station and a case has been registered against them.
Dmr. police nabs three ‘tax’ collectors
The Dimapur battalion of Assam Rifles along with police representative conducted an operation at GS Road and Kalibari area in Dimapur on Feb. 8 and nabbed three ‘tax collectors’.
According to AR PRO, during the operation the three accused were apprehended along with INR 553710 and incriminating documents including vehicle tax collection slips of UG groups.
The accused were identified as Rajendra Prasad Yadav, resident of KL Shety Market; Suraj Jain, resident of GS Road; and Paras Jain, resident of Kalibari Road, Dimapur.
The apprehended trio along with seized items were said to have been handed over to East Police Station and Sub Urban Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation.
Excise seize drug
Excise Mobile Squad Special Task Force seized 1500 capsules of Spasmo proxyvon on Feb. 9 from the possession of one Shambu, resident of Thahekhu village in Dimapur. This was reported by the superintendent of Excise and prohibition (MS) on Fri.
In this connection, the accused has been has been forwarded to court for trial and booked under relevant section of the Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940.
