Cricket: Nagaland eves defeat Meghalaya by 132 runs

A jubilant Nagaland women’s U19 team after their victory over Meghalaya.

Dimapur, Nov. 9 (EMN): Nagaland women cricket team defeated Meghalaya by 132 runs at the ongoing BCCI women under-19 trophy for NE states and Bihar.
An update from the Nagaland Cricket Association on Thursday informed that the Nagaland women team have entered the ‘super league’ round following the win over Meghalaya.
“Nagaland women team has played for the first time in a BCCI tournament.
The team is returning home tomorrow for a short break before they move to Hyderabad to play the women’s super league from 16th to 30th Nov. 2017. The Nagaland team won against Manipur, Sikkim, Arunachal and Meghalaya but lost narrowly to Bihar. Top two teams of the tournament qualified for the super league,” it informed.
Meghalaya won the toss and Nagaland was asked to bat first. Nagaland’s Arpana took 7 wickets for just 5 runs.

Nagaland – 149 in 35.1 overs, Kanika –10, Sariba-31 runs. Smiriti –2 wkts, Daiaka –2 wkts, Silda –2 wkts.
Meghalaya –17 all out in 13 overs. Silda –5, Daiaka –2, Arpana –7 wkts for 5 runs, Pori –2 wkts for 12 runs.
