DIMAPUR — Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) on Friday announced that the upcoming Sökrönye festival on January 15 would be hosted by the three villages of Khomi at Middle Khomi local jround (Khalutü).

An update from CPO informed that the celebration promised to be a joyous occasion, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the Chakhesang community.

In addition to the Sökrönye festival, it stated that the 42nd CPO general session would be held in Chizami village on January 24. The session would serve as a platform for discussions on crucial matters concerning the Chakhesang community, providing an opportunity for unity and collaboration.

In this regard, all the Chakhesang villages are directed not to coincide with any event on January 15 and 24.

The CPO has invited all members of the Chakhesang community to join in those significant events.

“Let us come together to celebrate our cultural identity at the Sökrönye festival and actively participate in shaping the future of our community during the 42nd CPO general session,” the statement read.
