Kohima, June 8 (EMN): The Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO)’s committee members led by convenor Vaprümü Demo inspected the ongoing two-lane road construction work from Pfutsero to Phek on May 31 and June 1 and had several meetings with the village leaders. The committee held a consultative meeting with the Deputy Commissioner, Phek, and apprised him of the need to give compensation to genuine claimants for the smooth execution of the project in the district. The committee has acknowledged the cooperation of the villages towards the success of the project, informed an update from Wepe Mekrisuh, member secretary CPO Committee. The committee has requested the contractors to cooperate with the locals while executing the work. The committee also told the contractors to maintain strict dumping site so as to avert damage to the valley and complete the work on time by strictly following the ROW as per DPR and not to compromise on quality. The committee has further requested the public to extend full cooperation and remain vigilant against any threat or illegal collection of tax in connection with the road construction work by anti-social elements.
