Dimapur, Sep. 30 (EMN): Week 2 of the ongoing CASE Premier League 4 saw Nizams FC, CASE FC, Sporting Union and Trinity Sporting registering wins at the Chumukedima local ground and DGP ground on Saturday. Last season runners-up Nizams FC blanked Super Strikers 3-0, registering their second consecutive win this season. A one touch pass from Angam opened up the Super Strikers defense as Themreiso swiftly broke his marker to beat the keeper and give Nizams the lead in the first half. Early in the second half, Pele beat the offside trap to latch onto Angam’s pass and slotted the ball home. Pele would score another goal minutes later, this time with assist from Lalbem. Super Strikers had a number of chances but Nizams’ custodian Temsumeren had an outstanding day on the field as he produced a string of saves from one-on-ones. New entrants Sporting Union edged over Natak FC 1-0 in a closely contested match. Thiangamlong scored the lone goal with a volley that left the keeper defenseless in the 19th minute. The Nataks made a flurry of attempts to equalise but remained unfruitful as the Union keeper was quick on his feet to thwart any shots on goal. CASE FC registered their second consecutive win on Saturday by defeating FC Joga Bonito 1-0. Suya gave the winning side the lead with a long-range effort that saw the back of the net in the 6th minute while Ringo failed to convert two golden opportunities. The Joga Bonito players continued to attack relentlessly until stoppage time, but the CASE defensive setup proved too strong for them to penetrate. The main highlight of the day was the match between Trinity Sporting and Ruboo United as the three-time league winners outwitted the newcomers 5-1 in a dominant fashion. Ruboo United started off strong initially with Jungshi scoring the first goal in as early as the 7th minute. With a couple of missed chances, Trinity managed to equalise with a goal from Atokito. After the lemon break, a renewed Trinity team took the lead with Viseyie scoring in the opening minutes of the second half – he would go on to score a hat-trick. Atokito also added another to the tally in the 56th minute.
