Dimapur, Feb. 8 (EMN): An awareness and sensitisation workshop on Covid-19 vaccination for frontline workers of Zunheboto district was held on Feb. 8.
The workshop was held for the staff of district administration, DEF and 14th IR at their respective offices, a DPRO update informed.
Dr. K Akaho Sema, chief medical officer, Zunheboto urged participants to come forward and get vaccinated.
“He also requested all the concerned department officials to encourage all their staff to get vaccinated and not to believe in the misconceptions about the vaccine from the social media,” it said.
Dr. Nukshisangla Jamir, DPO (RCH/UIP), gave a brief introduction on coronavirus, symptoms, modes of transmission, and prevention.She also spoke on the importance of achieving herd immunity stating that it is a condition acquired when most of the population becomes immune to an infectious disease which then prevents the spread of the disease.
It said that the DPO also gave a detailed report on the number of healthcare workers in Nagaland who have been vaccinated for the first dose so far, and the number of healthcare workers vaccinated in Zunheboto as well.
The workshop was followed by interaction and discussion with the resource person and the participants.
