Covid vaccination mandatory for Nagaland police personnel; India records 780 deaths

Dimapur, April 9 (EMN): The Inspector General of Police (CID) has issued an order stating that Covid-19 vaccination will be mandatory for all Nagaland police personnel.
All unit commanders have directed to ensure that the police personnel are vaccinated and follow all the SOPs, including wearing of face mask.
India has started vaccination drive for persons aged 45 and above. A total of 32,16,949 vaccine doses were administered till 8 pm on Friday, taking the tally to 9,78,71,045 so far, according to Union Health Ministry.
1.3 lakh cases, 780 deaths in India
India’s daily cases continue to rise as 1,31,968 new Covid-19 cases and 780deaths were registered in the last 24 hours, pushing the country’s tally to over 1.3 crore, informed Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
10 states — Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Rajasthan — account for 83.29% of the new cases reported in the country, with Maharashtra reporting highest daily new cases at 56,286, followed by Chhattisgarh with 10,652 and Uttar Pradesh with 8,474.
India’s active caseload has reached 9,79,608 while 61,899 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative recoveries to 1,19,13,292 at 91.22% recovery rate.
