Covid-19: State reports 2 recoveries

Dimapur, March 23 (EMN):
Nagaland recorded two recoveries from Covid-19 on Wednesday, while no new positive cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

The state’s Covid-19 tally stands at 35,467 and active caseload to 32.

The state’s cumulative recoveries also increased to 33, 193 with the recovery of two patients in Dimapur.

The death toll remains unchanged at 754 with no fresh death reported on Wednesday.

Out of the 32 active cases in the state, 29 are asymptomatic, one mild, one moderate on oxygen and one in ICU on ventilator.

In terms of distribution of active cases, Dimapur has 21 infections, 10 in Kohima, and one in Mokokchung, while Kiphire, Wokha, Longleng, Mon, Tuensang, Peren, Zunheboto and Phek are currently Covid-19 free.

1,778 new Covid-19 cases in India

India reported 1,778 new coronavirus infections pushing the country’s tally  4,30,12,749, while the number of active cases declined to 23,087, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.

The death toll climbed to 5,16,605 with 62 new fatalities reported in the last 24 hours, the data stated..

2,542 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,24,73,057.

Meanwhile, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 181.89 crore(1,81,89,15,234).
