Dimapur, Feb. 3 (EMN): Office of the commandant of Home Guards, Civil Defence and SRDF, in collaboration with the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Tuensang, conducted a three-day Covid-19 sensitisation training for NGOs, NCOs, Home Guards, Civil Defence and SRDF personnel of Tuensang district from February 1 to the 3rd.
An update from the CMO’s office, Tuensang, stated that Dr. Imlong, medical officer of the District Hospital; Dr. Tekawapangla, medical officer of RBSK; and Dr. John Shupao, epidemiologist of DSU, IDSP, were the resource persons.
The topics covered during the training included overview of Covid-19, role of Home Guards, Civil Defence and SRDF in Covid-19 pandemic, importance of hand hygiene, respiratory hygiene and social distancing for prevention of Covid-19, judicious use of PPEs, demonstration on proper use of mask, donning and doffing of PPE, waste management and Covid-19 dead body management.
It stated that Dr. Sunep, ortho-surgeon from the District Hospital, trained the participants on first aid management in cases of snake bites and injuries from accidents.
The welcome address was delivered by Temjenwati, commandant of Home Guards, Civil Defence and SRDF. Report further stated that a question and answer session was held after the training.
