Dimapur, April 30 (EMN): The fourth test result of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) positive patient from Dimapur, Nagaland has returned negative and the patient will be discharged from the hospital today, April 30, a highly reliable source has informed Eastern Mirror.

The news about the fourth test came amid confusion caused by the fluctuation in the results of Covid-19 tests being conducted on the patient so far.

“We were certain that the fourth test would be negative; only God knows how the third test was positive,” the source told this newspaper adding that the third test results came as a surprise as all the family members of the patient were tested negative for the virus.

The fourth test result is informed to have been released on Wednesday, April 29, and the patient is expected to be discharged today.

It may be mentioned that the patient was tested positive for the deadly virus on April 12 at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where he has been undergoing treatment, and Assam’s minister for Health and Family Welfare Himanta Biswa Sarma broke the news via Twitter.

Then Eastern Mirror broke the news about the patient’s second test returning negative on April 18, before the secretary of the department of Health and Family Welfare, Kesonyu Yhome announced that the third test was positive a few days later.

If the fourth test is negative, as claimed by the source, the results of four tests conducted so far on the patient will be positive-negative-positive-negative.
