Covid-19 Nagaland: Three more test positive; total tally rises to 660

Dimapur, July 9 (EMN): Three more cases of Covid-19 positive have been reported on Thursday, taking the total tally of the state to 660.

This was informed by the minister of Health, S Pangnyu Phom, through a social media update on Thursday morning.

"Out of 291 samples tested, 3 fresh positive cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed. All cases are in Phek," the minister tweeted on Thursday morning.

At the time of this report being written, Health authorities in Nagaland have declared 304 patients as ‘recovered’, 356 as active cases and no death.

It may be mentioned that Nagaland recorded its first Covid-19 positive cases on May 25 when three returnees tested positive for the virus. 

The number of positive cases breached the 100-mark as 13 returnees from Chennai tested positive for the virus, taking the state’s tally to 107 on June 6.

Subsequently, the number of positive cases crossed the 300-mark of Covid-19 cases as 50 returnees tested positive for the virus, taking the state's tally to 330 on June 23.

Meanwhile, the number of Covid-19 recovered cases in the state reached the 100-mark on June 16 as 11 more returnees tested negative for Covid-19 in their second tests on Tuesday, taking the recovery tally to 103 in the state.

As of July 9, Peren has the highest cases among the districts with 108 active cases, followed by Mon with 73 active cases. kohima has 67 active cases; Dimapur has 64 cases; Tuensang has 29 cases; Phek has 11 cases, while Mokokchung has three cases and Zunheboto has one case.
