Covid-19: Guidelines for eastern Nagaland districts’ people returning to own areas

Compulsory isolation or quarantine for 21 days in respective districts

Dimapur, April 22 (EMN): The Eastern Nagaland Legislature Union (ENLU) has issued a list of guidelines for people ‘willing to be transported on their volition to their respective districts in regard to the Covid-19 particularly for stranded students, daily wage labourers, patients and public’ in Dimapur and Kohima.

The union issued a press release dated April 21 stating a number of guidelines they are to follow.

The guidelines include compulsory isolation/quarantine for 21 days in the respective districts/villages.

The press release read: ‘Subsequent upon the discussions in the State Cabinet meeting on 20th April 2020 with subject to Covid-19  in the state on the restricted movement of stranded citizens from eastern Nagaland, the Eastern Nagaland Legislature Union would like to hereby lay certain guidelines to be strictly adhered while registering for thermal scanning for those willing to be transported on their volition to their respective districts in regard to the Covid-19 evacuation drive, particularly for stranded students, daily wage labourers, patients and public in Dimapur and Kohima district Covid-19 hospitals respectively.’

Before departure

  • Compulsory thermal scanning before departure from the Covid-19 Hospitals in Kohima and Dimapur.
  • Mandatory maintenance of social distancing of 6 ft minimum while in queues for undergoing scanning at the Covid-19 hospitals.
  • Compulsory registration of particulars i.e., name, age, sex, village, district etc in the maintenance registers for tracing, monitoring and record maintenance by the Covid-19 hospitals and the district Covid-19 team.

On arrival

  • Second compulsory thermal scanning upon arrival at the respective district Covid-19 hospitals.
  • Second compulsory registration of particulars i.e., name, age, sex, village, district etc in the maintenance registers for tracing, monitoring and record maintenance by the Covid-19 hospitals and the district Covid-19 team.
  • Compulsory isolation/quarantine for 21 days in the respective districts/villages.

‘The district Covid-19 team shall monitor all those in isolation/quarantine regularly during the 21 days period, and the reports to be sent to the state level monitoring cell,’ the ENLU stated.

The press release mentioned the ENPUD and ENPUK to monitor and coordinate with all six tribal units for ‘systematic and orderly conduct.’

There shall be strictly no electronic recording in any manner, the union stated.

‘Medical opinions and guidelines in regard to the above shall be sought before the exercise. Respective district Covid-19 team shall also be consulted for the same,’ the union stated.
