Dimapur, March 26 (EMN): The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) has expressed gratitude to healthcare workers, government functionaries, police personnel and village councils at the village level for their valiant efforts in checking the spread of novel coronavirus (Covid-19) in the state.

In a press release issued on Thursday, the organisation stated that it was they (healthcare workers, government functionaries and others) who “work overtime with an admirable sacrifice and patience in fighting to save lives” while the whole world is stunned by the unexpected scare of the deadly pandemic.

While reminding the overwhelming response to the prime minister’s ‘janta curfew’ appeal and the co-operation towards the subsequent 21-day nation-wide lockdown starting from March 25, the ENPO urged the people in eastern Nagaland to continue to co-operate with the healthcare workers, government functionaries, police personnel and village councils.

In the interest individual and community safety, the organisation has requested students coming from various parts of the country to report to the village council, village-level health workers, district administration or the state government. It has also asked the six tribal bodies to direct their respective village councils to identify such students or individuals in their jurisdictions and strictly adhere to the guidelines laid down by the government.

The ENPO has also assured its fullest co-operation to the government in case of any emergency that may arise.
