Covid-19 cases in Nagaland climb to 978

Dimapur, July 18 (EMN):
The total number of Covid-19 cases in Nagaland reached 978 on Saturday after 22 fresh cases were detected.

“Out of 216 samples tested, 22 positive cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed. Eleven in Peren, eight in Dimapur and three in Kohima. All cases are from quarantine centres,” the minister for Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, tweeted.

In his daily update, Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha informed that the total number of active cases is 546.

“As per the severity of symptoms, 543 active cases are asymptomatic and two active cases are mild and one active case is moderate. Till date, a total of 18,331 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR. Results of 17,438 samples have been received.

“In addition, a total of 11,998 samples have been sent for testing on TrueNat. 11,279 samples have tested negative, and 361 samples have tested positive which have been sent for confirmation by RT-PCR,” he said.

Rio’s result returns negative

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, who is currently in home quarantine following his trip to New Delhi, has tested negative for Covid-19.

“I have tested negative for Covid-19. However, I will continue to be vigilant, take all necessary precautions and complete the quarantine period,” he tweeted on Saturday.
