Court disposes NR Zeliang’s writ petition

Kohima Bureau Kohima, March 13 (EMN): The Kohima bench of Gauhati High Court on Tuesday disposed a writ petition filed by Namduadi Rangkau Zeliang against the decision of the Election Commission of India by which the election of NR Zeliang to the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly was cancelled in favour of Namri Nchang, the elected MLA from 6th Tening assembly constituency. Justice LS Jamir allowed the disposal of said petition filed by NR Zeliang on withdrawal. In view of the order passed in the writ petition, a caveat filed by the Namri Nchang was also disposed. The petitioner NR Zeliang was represented by senior advocate S Dutta. Talking to Eastern Mirror, Dutta informed that they will be filing an election petition in two week’s time against the decision of the ECI. The respondent Namri Nchang was represented by senior advocate CT Jamir.
