Countdown for All India K-Pop Contest 2023: Kohima regional round begins
KOHIMA — The Kohima Regional Round of the All India K-Pop Contest 2023, a highly-anticipated event presented by LG, will begin from 2 pm onwards on June 8 at The Heritage, Old DC Bungalow in Kohima.
The All India K-Pop Contest is a competition held every year by the Korean Cultural Centre India (KCCI), which is the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Korea in India, together with regional organisers from cities across the country.
The contest aims at providing a platform to bring K-Pop fans together and compete in vocal and dance category respectively.
This year, the K-Pop India Contest is being held across cities in the country in celebration of 50 years of diplomatic ties between Korea and India.
The contest is held with four rounds of competitions in India and the winners from the final round will win a trip to visit South Korea.
The event in Kohima city will bring together talented performers including Roslin Toppo, Neivisienuo Zuyie and H1me for the dance category while the line up for the vocal division are Esther Toppo, Keneinuo Chielie, Keneiphrenuo Mere and Limatula Aier.
Jennifer Wotsa will be the host of the event with Afang Ajem as the judge for the dance category and Vidisenuo Belho as judge for the vocal segment.
HallyuWave Nagaland will be hosting the Kohima Regional Round for the third consecutive time with Eastern Mirror as this year’s event media partner.
Keneingunuo Ecilia Whuorie, president of HallyuWave Nagaland informed that a few Hallyu or Korean fans have come together to form the club which is a total package of popular Hallyu Wave entertainment, culture, music and dramas.

With their tagline ‘Fan-tastic HallyuWave Experience,’ they have been working continuously to promote and share awareness of Korean waves and culture to the fandoms in Nagaland and beyond. At present, they have 31 fandoms under their wings working on promoting and sharing about K-Pop happenings and events.
Special performance from Lidi Kro-u, cosplay competition, K-Pop random dance and lantern festival will be part of the show.
Food and merchandise stalls will also be set up at the venue during the extravaganza.
While, entry to the venue will be free of cost, the organisers have asked those attending the event to come with a traditional touch as they celebrate 50 years of Korea and India diplomatic relations together.
Representatives from KCCI and LG and local influencers are expected to attend the much eagerly awaited contest.
