Core Committee constituted to pursue Naga political issue

Kohima, June 10 (EMN): A Core Committee has been constituted to pursue the protracted Naga political issue, official sources informed on Thursday.

The committee was said to have been constituted on June 9 but official notification is still awaited.

It was informed that the Core Committee is headed by Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio as Chairman, while Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton and Leader of Opposition TR Zeliang are co-convenors.

The committee also has members from the NDPP, BJP, NPF and Independent.

The first official meeting of the committee is scheduled to be held on June 19 at Police Complex, Chümuokedima in Dimapur, it was informed.
