Coraggio School celebrates 20th anniversary with marathon
KOHIMA — Coraggio School celebrated its 20th anniversary by organising a marathon race themed “Connect” on Saturday in Kohima.
Speaking before the competition, Annie Konthoujam, the headmistress of the school, emphasised the importance of collective effort in nurturing and shaping the lives of children. She highlighted the goal of fostering a generation of compassionate individuals who embody values such as love and forgiveness, ultimately leading to positive societal transformation.
Ahelie Theyo, the chairman of Upper Chandmari, stressed in his speech the significance of commemorating the event by acknowledging the contributions of those who served in the school.
He also highlighted the multifaceted role of teachers, who not only impart knowledge from textbooks but also provide invaluable support to children in various aspects of their development. He emphasised the importance of expressing gratitude to teachers for their outstanding dedication and commitment to education.
The marathon route began at Martyrs’ Park, proceeding through Upper Chandmari, Porterlane, AG, Lerie, and ending at Coraggio School.
Dr. Hovithal Sothu, chairman of the board of directors, awarded prizes to the winners of the race. Kekhrüngoto Sachü from Class 9 clinched the first position, with Matsungshilong Longkümer, also from Class 9, securing second place, followed by Vizoho Mekro from Class 10 in third place.
