Coordination meetings highlights plight of Longkhim-Chare area

DIMAPUR — The United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC), in collaboration with the Longkhim-Chare Area GBs Union, held coordination meetings with all the heads of offices, VCC, VDB secretaries and head GBs under Longkhim sub-division.

The coordination meetings were held on September 14 for Chare area and September 16 for Longkhim area respectively, an update from the union stated. 

It stated that the members have thoroughly discussed on prevailing issues and grievances including shortage of teachers in the Longkhim-Charea area, urgent need of an SDEO in Longkhim, absence of SDEO and poor school infrastructure in the area, shortage of medical officers, doctors, nurses and medical facilities.

The house also deliberated on poor telecom services, poor power supply, pathetic road conditions, challenges in the banking sector including insufficient staff and absence of ATM booth in the area.

Further, the house also highlighted on concerns about government officers and employees not being stationed in their place of posting, thereby causing immense difficulties to the people.

The house decided to give three-month time for absentee officers to report to their place of posting and fulfill their duties and responsibilities diligently.

The USSC has been tasked to monitor and mark those errant and absentee officers, conduct inquiries into the prevailing issues and grievances and issue representations to the government, wherever necessary.

Meanwhile, the members have expressed gratitude to all the dedicated and sincere officers and government employees, who are working tirelessly for the uplift and betterment of the community in the Longkhim-Chare area.
