DIMAPUR —  A coordination meeting, chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) P James Swu and attended by heads of departments (HoDs) from across the Medziphema sub-division, was convened at the ADC office on Tuesday.

According to a DIPR report, on the occasion, the chairman expressed gratitude to the departments for their involvement in the Republic Day celebration and emphasised the importance of enhanced cooperation among departments to foster holistic development within the sub-division.

During the session, a representative of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) provided an overview of its ongoing activities, while Sub Divisional Officer (PHED) Seyievizo highlighted sanitation and water supply initiatives under the Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin (SBMG). He discussed the challenges encountered during scheme implementation and proposed solutions to overcome them.

Additionally, the representative of the Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH) elucidated its objectives, departmental activities, and endeavours aimed at fostering entrepreneurship and expertise among the populace.

The discussion covered nursery establishment, farmer skill development, post-harvest management programmes, and the monitoring of centrally sponsored schemes.

The meeting deliberated on the acquisition of government-provided schemes and emphasised the necessity for PHED to ensure comprehensive water systems for schools and hospitals. The chairman appealed to all departments for seamless cooperation in preparation for the upcoming elections.

The Department of Social Welfare and ICAR Mithun will present PowerPoint presentations at the next coordination meeting, it said.
