Cooch Behar Trophy final: Nagaland end day 1 with 252/7

DIMAPUR — The Cooch Behar Trophy Final Match (Plate Group) between Nagaland and Meghalaya commenced on Friday at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Nagaland faced an early setback as both openers were dismissed in quick succession without adding any runs to the board.

Nagaland team captain Yugandhar Singh contributed 55 runs, while vice captain Seyievizo Zaputou remained unbeaten with a score of 77 runs, stabilising the Nagaland innings. Following the Captain’s departure, Nagaland forged partnerships, with Samir Ali scoring 48 runs and Thechamo Odyuo adding 27 runs before being run out towards the end of the day’s play.

At stumps on day-1, Nagaland posted a total of 252/7. The final match’s day-2 is set to resume Saturday (Dec. 30) morning at 8:30 am.
