Contractors happy at Gadkari’s contract ‘package’ assurance

The Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) is grateful to the honorable Union Minister for Road Transport Highway & Shipping Nitin Gadkariji for his “assures (sic) given the union officials while laying the foundation stone for 4 laning of Dimapur–Kohima National Highway on 3rd Nov 2015.”
The contractors and suppliers issued a press release on Thursday informing about the ‘assurance.’
The union said that the union minister assured that the road projects “will be made into smaller packages so that the local Contractors can avail the opportunity in taking up as many projects in the state.”
“The union earlier submitted 2 representation to Hon’ble Union Minister during N.E Highway meet at Guwahati Assam on 30th June 2015 and 29th October 2015 requested for change of modalities in awarding of contract works under Natonal Highway in Nagaland may kindly break-up into project wise and let local contractors avail the opportunity,” the press release stated.
The union further ‘deeply acknowledges Union Minister for announcing Rs. 10,000 crores road projects for Nagaland State.’
