Consultative meet to address violence against women

Dimapur, May 9 (EMN): In continuation to the series of consultation with the police personnel at the district level, on May 9, a consultative meeting and sensitization programme with police personnel to address “Violence against women and children with special reference to Sakhi-One Stop Centre and Women Helpline 181 was conducted at the Commissioner of Police conference hall in Dimapur.
The meeting was jointly organized by Police department, Dimapur, State Resource Centre for Women (SRCW), and Nagaland State Social Welfare Board (NSSWB).
During the meeting, ADCP (Crime), Dimapur, Yanrenthung Ngullie, presented the overview of violence against women and children in Dimapur and service provided by police.
Chairperson NSCWB Bano Vinito addressed on strengthening convergence to address violence against women and children while centre administrator, OSC, Weri-U Mero, shared on introduction of schemes for violence against Women (OSC, Women Helpline, BBBP).
During sensitization programme, Zakato Chishi and Lanuienla Imchen of Women Helpline 181, talked in forms of Violence against women and children, legal rights of women and children and sexual harassment of women at workplace respectively. Case worker, OSC, Bovili Chishi shared on psycho social support.
