DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has rubbished the rumours that it would forge an alliance with the ruling government at the Centre, for the upcoming election to the urban local bodies (ULBs), which is scheduled to take place on June 26.

Addressing a press conference on Monday at the Congress Bhavan in Dimapur, NPCC Chairperson, Communication Department, Yanger Longkumer clarified that the party is not in alliance with the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) or any regional party for the ULB polls.

He said that the INDIA bloc or AICC leadership will decide on any possible alliance, and not by the NPCC or its leaders, while asking the citizens not to be deceived by ploys.

Confirming that the congress party is contesting all the ULB seats alone, Longkumer said it will give priority to women and youth.

He went on to describe the Lok Sabha 2024 exit polls as a trap to sabotage the verdict and urged the public not to be deceived by false prediction but wait for the results on Tuesday.

He expressed confidence that the INDIA bloc will win a minimum of 295 seats and form the government at the Centre.
