DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) and All India Congress Committee (AICC-media department) have launched a national talent hunt in Nagaland to select spokespersons, researchers and publicity coordinators.
The AICC (media department) and NPCC announced the opening of these roles for the party at a press conference held at Congress Bhavan in Dimapur on Saturday. The last date for the application is February 28.
The programme was formally launched by AICC spokesperson Dolly Sharma; NPCC working president Apok Jamir; chairman (media & publicity) NPCC Andrew Humtsoe; Kumjimong, chairman (social media) NPCC; and DCC president, Kutoho Chishi.
The party has invited applications from eligible, experienced and politically aware youth across the state. There is no age limit or qualification limit, but applicants should have knowledge of what is happening in the country and possess general knowledge of all topics and the history of India.

The AICC spokesperson said the party's initiative aims to empower young talent, providing a platform for growth and leadership.
“It's not about politics, it's about empowerment,” Sharma affirmed, highlighting the party's goal to train and polish the next generation of spokespersons, researchers, and coordinators.
The party, she added is looking for young individuals who believe in democracy, truth, and responsibility, and want to represent local issues on a national level.
She affirmed that they are launching this campaign to give young talent a national platform because the party feels there are several issues which get unaddressed including issues of Nagaland that can be addressed nationally.
“Congress has always empowered young minds, and this National Talent Hunt Programme is another step towards it. We are launching this campaign to give young talent a national platform. Scan the QR code and apply directly. Your applications will reach the AICC Media Department directly and AICC headquarters,” she informed.
Sharma observed that the North East is diverse, but united by the stance of right-thinking citizens. She said the national talent hunt will highlight the youth's problems and demands on a national stage. She urged the youth to participate and serve the people and nation.
“I believe that North East is a reservoir of talent. It has lot of talents, especially Nagaland which can be tapped and this talent can be also used in the national level to voice out the difficulties, to voice out the requirements which is very much needed, especially in the state of Nagaland as well as North East,” she said.
When asked about the benefits for selected candidates, she contrasted the approach of the Indian National Congress with that of the Bharatiya Janata Party, alleging that the latter suppresses dissenting voices. According to her, Rahul Gandhi seeks to empower fearless individuals who can speak up for the poor and marginalised.
On the question of representation, she assured that the party would support candidates from diverse regions and backgrounds, enabling them to express themselves freely—whether in English or in their respective local languages.
Apok Jamir stated that the party’s talent hunt initiative will benefit everyone, especially young minds who are eager to voice the needs and aspirations of today’s youth.
“I would urge all of you to take very active participation in this and come forward to be a part of this process of development and nation building”, he added.
Interested candidates can scan the QR code which is on the social media account of the Congress party. The last date for application, as announced by the party, is February 28, 2026.
