Dimapur, April 3 (EMN): Kohima District Congress Committee (KDCC) and the Kohima division of Naga People’s Front (NPF) have agreed to stand together and fight the communal forces and defeat the NDPP-BJP candidate in the ensuing election.
In line with the decision of the NPF deciding to extend issue based support to the Congress party in Nagaland for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections, a coordination meeting between the KDCC and NPF Kohima division was held at Congress Bhavan, Kohima, on April 2.
KDCC was led by its president, Kevi Vizo, while the NPF Kohima division was led by its president, Gonei Sirie.
The deliberations dwelled on the coming together of the two political parties to protect the secular fabric especially on issue of Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) 2016, which if passed in the Parliament threatens the existence of the Northeast region in general.
Meanwhile, KDCC welcomed the maturity of the NPF leaders in extending support to the Congress candidate KL Chishi.
