Dimapur, March 23 (EMN): Senior Congress leader and former union minister of Doner, Manishankar Aiyar, exuded confidence of Congress coming to power in Assam in the ensuing assembly elections.
Aiyar confided this to the chairman of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) minority department, Rajesh Kumar Sethi, who recently called on him at his residence at New Delhi.
Sethi stated that during discussion on various issues with regard to revival of Indian National Congress (INC) in the Northeast, Aiyar expressed confidence for a change in Assam government in the forthcoming election. He stated that INC Assam is doing well with the joint efforts of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Rahul Gandhi, MPs Gaurav Gogoi and Pradyut Bordoloi.
Sethi stated that it was a great moment to meet and take the guidance of senior leaders who had worked for the Northeast in the capacity of union minister for DoNER. Sethi added that Aiyar still has the same feelings for the people of Northeast.
