The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) said today that since the state BJP has openly acknowledged the financial misappropriation committed by the NPF government in the state during DAN-I and DAN-II, the stand of the NPCC on corruption and misrule charges against the NPF led DAN government has been finally vindicated by none other than the coalition partner of DAN. “However, as stated earlier, unless the state BJP leaders were in deep slumber for the past 12 years, it could not have missed out the countless issues of corruption and misgovernance charges raised earlier by the NPCC,” the state Congress party said while reacting to the BJP press statement. It said the doggedness of the state BJP to defend the corrupt activities of the NPF government perpetrated during the past 12 years in a desperate bid to save its unholy marriage with the NPF despite being repeatedly snubbed and humiliated is worth appreciating.
According to the statement, during the past decade, the NPCC had filed a number of corruption charges against the NPF ministers and functionaries with the state Vigilance Commission. However, the state government had used all resources at its disposal to stonewall the entire investigation process, it added. The people who are now questioning the NPCC through the hidden cloak of BJP Media Cell are fully aware as to what steps and painstaking efforts the NPCC had taken all these years to expose the massive corruption and misgovernance of the NPF government, the NPCC stated. “The long arm of law will one day catch those leaders who indulge in blatant corruption and misrule. Recent developments in other parts of the country where political leaders were convicted by the Court and sentenced to prison after more than 17-20 years on charges of corruption serves a reminder that justice may be delayed but it can never be denied,” the Nagaland Congress said. It then stated that the NPCC can only wish the state BJP leaders the strenght to endure more humiliations from the NPF in the vain hope of sharing the spoils of misgovernance as part of DAN coalition which ironically no longer exists in the BJPs own words a few days back.
