Condemnations against the recent shooting incidents, one at the residence of Abu Metha, Secretary General of NDPP, and the other at the residence of NDPP legislator Sharingain Longkumer on June 5 and 6 respectively, continue to pour in.
DDGBA: The Dimapur District GBs Association (DDGBA) has condemned the firing incidents, stating that “if anyone has any grievances with any person/individual/groups/party, it should be resolved at the table whatsoever and not by such cowardly acts by shooting/firing (in hiding) and then escaping in order to create fear psychosis which is both obnoxious and disgusting and should be condemned by one and all.” It has urged the authorities to arrest the offenders; adding that “such kind of persons and actions has no place in this modern world.”
BJP: The Nagaland state BJP has condemned the shooting incident, stating that such “dastardly act” has no place in a civilised society. “It is clear that the unknown miscreant have one and only intention to spread fear psychosis. The unknown miscreant ought to know that there is a rule of law and such uncivilised, primitive and barbaric approach would only deserve condemnation and strict action upon them under the rule of law,” said the party in a statement while expressing full support to the victim’s family. It also demanded that the miscreants be punished to restore confidence of the affected family and the society.
PHDD: The Pochury Hoho Dimpur District (PHDD) has issued a statement denouncing the recent attack by unidentified miscreants at the residences of Abu Metha and Sharingain Longkumer. It has requested the law enforcing agency to take necessary actions against the culprits and “award befitting punishment as per the law of the land.”
Napo: The Northern Angami Public Organisation (Napo) has condemned the indiscriminate serial firings at the residential gates of its members on June 5. The statement sent by Napo secretary Helievio Solo said that such dastardly acts of terror have no place in a civilised society and urged the law enforcing agencies to book the perpetrators at the earliest.
CVYO: The Chiechama Village Youth Organisation (CVYO) has also condemned the shooting incident on June 5, stating that the cowardly act created fear psychosis among the peace-loving citizens. It also appealed to all the peace-loving citizens to condemn the firing.
