Dimapur, May 20 (EMN): A number of private citizens and leaders of the Working Group of the Naga National Political Groups (NNPG) met recently to interact to discuss issues facing the Naga people.

“In the spirit of openness and dialogue a group of concerned Naga individuals had a timely interaction with the leaders of the Working Group of the Naga National Political Groups (NNPG),” stated a press release appended by the citizens and leaders of the NNPG on Saturday.

The press release was appended by leaders of the GPRN / NSCN, NSCN (reformation), ‘NNC (parent body)’, NNC / NPGN and NNC / GDRN; and concerned citizens Dr. P Ngully, Dr. Rosemary, Dr. PS Lorin, Dr. Visier Sanyu, Dr. Pangernungba Kechu, Dr. Ellen Jamir, Dr. Lanusangla Tzudir, Dr. Salikyu, Peter Rutse, Vashum, Kapani, Joel Naga, Sovenyi, KK Sema, and Dr. Wati Aier.

“While discussing a wide range of pressing concerns facing the Naga people, the meeting acknowledged the personal sacrifices of the leaders.”

In the interest of the shared Naga future, the press release stated, the meeting “recognized the need for all leaders to transcend their self-interests and put aside their ‘ego’ problems, to erase the hurts of the painful past and create an inclusive and respectful space so that the Naga people’s political and historical rights can be collectively pursued in a transparent, realistic and practical manner.”
