Dimapur, June 29 (EMN): An advisor of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) of Peren District today complained against the construction firm - Jordan Construction - for poor workmanship and leaving the allotted work unattended and uncompleted for several years.
A press release received at the Eastern Mirror office on June 29 2017 from one Takiang ‘Advisor, NDPP, Kiphire district’, while complaining against the construction company, listed out five ‘detected’ discrepancies and dereliction of works entrusted to the company.
“Construction of Road from Kohima -Laike road Junction to Old Puilwa (Puilo) 15 KM Peren district under NLCPR amounting to 734.25 lakhs vide order No.CE/R&B/NLCPR/2009-10/ dated Kohima the 2nd Dec.2009.
Construction of Road from Kohima -Laike road Junction to Tepuiki- Barak -NKM(NDR) PH-2 under NLCPR vide order No.CE/R&B/TB/NLCPR/TEPU-Barak/2010-11/ 391 dated Kohima the 4th April 2011 amounting to 949.55 Lakhs.
Construction of Road from Kohima -Laike road Junction to Barak - PH-2 vide order No.CE/R&B/TB/NLCPR/LEG-II/2012-13/ dated Kohima the 11th January 2013 amounting to 1911.48 Lakhs.
Construction of Road from Jalukie Road –Khelma to Ikiesingram - Gopibung to Ikiesingram to Jordan Construction under PMGSY.
Construction of Road from Jalukie Road –Khelma to New Nkio - New Nkio - Bamsiakilwa to Jordan Construction under PMGSY”
“Therefore, I request the concerned department to initiate stern action against the company for not doing the work but have drawn the money meant for construction of roads,” stated the NDPP Advisor, Takiang.
It may be noted here that the ‘incomplete Projects’ under PMGSY PH VIII, for more than six years, has been noted seriously by the National Rural Roads Development Agency under the Ministry of Rural Development Agency (MoRD). The office of the PWD (Roads & Bridges) had also called for a meeting of (PWD (R&B) officials and contractors with the Minister PWD and Comm. Secy Works and Housing Department ‘to deliberated on the impending threat in connection with the 17 on-going projects under PMGSY Phase VIII somewhere about a week ago at Kohima.
