Dimapur, Sep. 4 (EMN): Salesian College of Higher Education (SCHE), Dimapur, celebrated its ‘Literary Day’ on September 3 organised by the English department.
An update from the college stated that the occasion was marked with various competitions such as declamation, singing, dancing, extempore etc.
Dr. Lanusangla Tzudir, chief editor of Heritage Publishing House and the chief guest, spoke about the need of writers “who write about us and we are to write about ourselves.”
As one of the most researched people or communities, she stated that there is a need for a collective representation of the community to emerge from the shadows of colonial mindset and find new avenues of expressing the collective identity as a Naga.
It stated that the programme was filled with fun and entertainment as the students vied with each other in showcasing their talents. The celebration ended with the declaration of the results of the various competitions.
