Community first responders training held

Kohima, Nov. 1 (EMN): The Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) in collaboration with Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority, Home Guards & Civil Defence is conducting a refresher course for its community first responders (Khriekesa Pelikrou) to assist the community as reserved volunteers.
Updates from the organisation informed that the training session commenced from Oct. 28 at John Government Higher Secondary School, Viswema and will culminate on Nov. 4.

The training is said to be organised with the aim to impart proper training to community level youth who are usually the first responders in times of emergency.

The participants of the training would later assist in any situation as first responders and also as trainers when training programmes are organised in future, the AYO informed.

AYO president Neinguvotuo Krose stated that Emergency Response Training (ERT) is designed for people who work on a high-risk sites to respond to potential incidents. At high-risk sites, incidents that threaten worker safety and assets need to be dealt with swiftly and professionally, he added.
